I Love It!!

Drumroll please... I've finally finished my sweater and I love it! I was concerned about how the yarn stripes differently on the sleeves than on the body but it works for me. I added a few rows to the neckline so it doesn't hang off my shoulders.

Also a finishing tip, rather than seaming the body and sleeves at the end, I used the hem technique from Alison's Nothing but a Tshirt pattern. For example, on the lower body - knit 5 rounds, purl 1 round, knit 5 rounds. On round 6, fold work over on the turning row towards the inside and knit next row together with cast on edge. Viola - no seaming.

I still have to rinse the sweater in fabric softener as Noro yarn tends to irritate my skin. And, of course it's too hot in LA to wear wool right now but that's fine with me. My Hourglass sweater is done and I'm happy :-)

Simply beautiful! Wonderful job.
Would you be kind enough to tell us what colorway you used on the Noro Silk Garden?
That lavender is awesome on you.
We love it, too!

Oooh ... that is so great! Nice job! I thought the Noro might end up funny on the sleeves, but it looks really cool instead! Yea for you! (sorry for the multi exclamation marks, but I'm just a huge Noro fun and it really worked so nicely on this sweater!)

And P.S. -- I forgot to say what i logged on for ... soak the SG in hair conditioner, and give it a slight tumble in the dryer (no heat) and the silk garden will really "bloom"! (that's if that's what you want) It makes it sooo soft.

That's gorgeous, and the colors look great on you. I was having a hard time picturing this sweater in stripes, but now I get it.

I have a serious Silk Garden addiction, so I might have to try that later on too! :-)

That looks great, and THANK YOU for the seaming tip. It's too late for me to use that on the bottom hem, but the cuffs are yet to come. Thanks!

Wonderful colours, a great jumper,
but have I missed something? What yarn did you use? I think it was the Noro but please tell me which?
Thanks and Happy Knitting to All
