A question about sleeve width

I'm onto the sleeves of the sweater and am doing the second smallest size but the width of the sleeve seems huge. I don't consider myself petite (I wear size 7/8) but maybe I should start over and do the smallest size. Advice?

Barbara

p.s. I posted two images of my work thus far on this sweater at http://knittingonfire.blogspot.com

I've just started mine, and from reading all the comments here and other places, it seems like you can go a bit smaller with this pattern. It should fit to the body. I'm making the smallest size and I'm a small/medium in most things. Make sure to double check your gauge too.

Thanks. I just posted that gauge was a hard one for me but I think I got it...and my gauge is right on for the 2nd smallest size. Yet, the width just seems big! I may have to frog...

I finished mine in the cash iroha, had perfect gauge and made the size 41 but the sleeves were ridiculously wide at the wrist IMHO. So after 10 rows I frogged and cast on for the smallest size (and then adjusted further on up the sleeve to fit the 41" sizings) and they are now perfect. I don't have dainty wrists either but I hate flappy sleeves

Well, I just posted the pic of my frogged sleeve with my kitty and I'm thinking even doing the sleeve at the smallest size is still going to be too big. Maybe I need to subtract stitches from the smallest, even. Anyway, I'll let you know what I do....
